This layout also features a real viaduct that is located on Fairview Blacktop in Farmington, Illinois. I parked my white truck under the viaduct while I stepped away to take a photograph of the viaduct.
The little white truck parked beneath the viaduct is MY truck! I parked it there to step back and take the photo of the viaduct and upon returning home, my wife sketched it into this scene just for fun! I think it created a very realistic effect and I would encourage you to try something like this, also. It was great fun and always seems to be a conversation piece that brings smiles.
Here's my wonderful friend, Jim Blackburn, manning the controls of our layout at a train show as I was milling around the area chatting with visitors. We traded off so both of us could share the joy of each activity. |
